BCP full-scale training to increase resilience
When a disaster strikes, something unthinkable in normal times happens.
People feel strong stress because their safe and secure daily life and normal corporate activities are interrupted, their emotions are greatly shaken.
Business continuity requires the correct judgment and actions as much as possible, even if there are stresses and various restrictions, and the person in charge needs resilience in combination with BCP (Business Continuity Plan).
In the BCP training that we support, we provide "full-power training" to train thinking ability with the aim of increasing the resilience of the person in charge.
Improve thinking ability with full power training
Many unexpected things happened in the Great East Japan Earthquake. When something that isn't written in the manual and hasn't been experienced by anyone in the past happens, the only answer is to find it "in your head." “Resilience” determines whether or not your thinking ability is flexible and appropriate without being narrowed by stress.
The experience of concentrating and thinking with all one's might develops the network (nerve circuit) in the brain. Without a well-developed network, the brain has a self-preserving instinct that shuts down information and reduces thinking because it does not use extra energy. The so-called head is completely white.
Full-strength training trains the thinking process, not the result of success. Since the disaster does not occur as expected, the thinking process of what to think is far more useful than the correct result according to the scenario.
In addition to repeated training, you can also acquire the habit of thinking from the following perspectives from normal times so that you can do it without being aware of the thinking process in the event of a disaster.
Distinguish between "what you know" and "what you don't know" without speculation.
Accept reality without feelings.
From the present situation, we anticipate what will happen in the future.
Think of multiple ways
Understand what is done and how far it is done over time.
Distinguish between "what you can do now" and "what you cannot do now". Do not confuse desires and regrets.
Motivation for BCP personnel
In the event of a disaster, you are required to act proactively without instructions. For that purpose, motives such as "work on improvement because it was pointed out in the training" and "work on getting a passing score" do not work. The pointed out matter is an extra task for the person in charge, and it tends to be postponed with a reason, and it tends to be in a state where only the minimum can be dealt with.
In desk training, you ask questions using coaching techniques. The question is a catalyst for the person to think, and even if the answer is not found during training, it remains in the mind and continues the person's thinking process.
For coaching, please also refer to <here>.
The improvement points that the person in charge noticed and thought about are different from the objective points made by the external consultant. BCP training that raises resilience also has the effect of increasing the motivation of the person in charge and turning the PDCA cycle.
