The role of coaches in career design

What kind of work you want to do, what you want to get through your work, what you want to achieve

"Career design" is the process of designing and designing with your own hands.

There is a way to work with your coach instead of alone when designing and implementing your career.

Job hunting, job change, reemployment, turning points in life come several times

Opportunities to seriously rethink your career in life, including finding employment, changing jobs, re-employment, and entrepreneurship

I will visit several times. Build an experienced career, advance your career to challenge a higher job, or a different job

Career change to change direction, or career down that prioritizes private life over career.

It's my life, so when such a turning point comes, I want to make the choices I want. One day, the turning point may come suddenly. How much do you think about your career?

You are free to choose whether to avoid failure and maintain your current life, or to take on new challenges. Even if things don't go as planned, it's important to look back on the careers you've built up and think about what you should do now.

Coaching is the time you think

Conversation with a coach (coaching) is a time for you to think about, not to be taught. Thinking about the questions your coach asks can help you realize more than you think alone. for example,

  • What is your most memorable job so far?

  • Why do you think so?

  • How did you feel at that time?

  • What did you learn from it?

  • Who would you like to thank?

Through coaching, you may be able to see what you value and what you are looking for. You may find out what you want to do about your career through the coach's questions. The coach creates time for the client to think.

The answer is in me

Sports coaches can tell you that athletes who are focused on the competition are unaware. By doing so, you can correct your body movements and focus your feelings on your way to the goal (victory).

Business coaching and personal coaching coaches also convey the state of mind of the client in the form of feedback. The coach is like a mirror that reflects the client, and returns the information received from the conversation, such as voice tone, breathing, and facial expression, to the client as it is. This is feedback. It is up to the client to decide how to use the feedback they receive.

Unlike sports coaches, the decision is not to give advice on your own. What to do, the "answer" is already in the client itself. The coach is the companion in you who draws the "answers" you are unaware of.

Give yourself OK

Once you find the answer, it's time to take action. The same is true for career design, where coaching confirms goals and confirms the thoughts and feelings of the client so that they can be put into practice. However, if your goal is too high, you may not be able to take action due to anxiety and fear.

The client's feelings are "I don't know until I try, but I'm worried about starting."
The coach's question is, "What are the small steps you can take right away?"

By putting into practice any small thing, your anxiety will gradually disappear. A small step may be a small failure, but it is a irreversible failure. If you can give yourself OK by taking small steps, your self-efficacy will increase and you will be able to approach your goals.
